PROJECTS

PROJECT 1
Dignity to the Poor
Prema Jyothi is participating in the Color the Fallen Stars Program, where seniors are picked up from sidewalks, who are abandoned and lost to evils of poverty. Through this program, we will renew the dignity of seniors and give them a second lease on life.
PROJECT 3
Education
Prema Jyothi assisted in the education of over 100 children in Bangalore, India, mainly for poor and destitute families. Funds were provided for children’s school fees, buy study books and supplies, and pay for school uniforms.
PROJECT 2
Foster Program
Prema Jyothi has teamed with Dream India Network to support children from poor and destitute families, by putting them in foster homes and  supporting their boarding, lodging, healthcare, and English-based education.
PROJECT 4
Food Program
Prema Jyothi teamed with Bird’s Campus, a project of Sacred Heart Brothers, to launch a Food Program for poor and marginalized kids. This school-based Program provides midday meals to about 150 students living in North Bangalore.

PROJECT 6
Outreach
We fund several outreach programs to orphanages and home for destitute children.  During these programs, clothes and food are distribute and volunteers interact and play with the children. We support various outreach programs to several institutions every year
PROJECT 5
Healthcare
We fund medical camps for poor children.  Volunteer doctors and nurses assisted in checking the wellbeing of children aged 10-19 years.  These children do not have access to doctors due to financial reasons.  Some are visiting a doctor for the very first time.
PROJECT 7
Clothes / Toys Drive
We collect children’s clothes and toys both in the United States and India, by word of mouth, and distribute them to poor children several times a year. These are sent to orphanages, children's institutions, and slum developments. In some instances, we purchase blankets and distribute them during the winter months.
PROJECT 8
Village Outreach
We visited slums and interact with the children. We recently visited a “quartered” village in East Bangalore comprising of 700 families. Our purpose was to identify target areas for women empowerment and children's education.  We are working with other nonprofits on this effort.
PROJECT 9
Children's Home
Prema Jyothi launched the Elizabeth Mayne Children's Home (EMC), which is comprised of 120 children. These kids are primarily from nearby stone quarry and grave-digger communities. The Home is run by the Sacred Heart Brothers, providing a place and creating a world of difference to children living in dire and unhealthy conditions.
